Clemson is an asset to any conference...

May 15, 2012, 9:03 AM

I'll be honest...Every time I get on tnet I look right past most of the threads on conference re-alignment. Mainly because over half of the stuff said on this board has no merit.

But I have come accross a few post that appear fearful of the future of Clemson football. i.e. What will happen if FSU bolts and leaves Clemson behind?

Folks...Brothers and Sisters... Remember that football is the driving factor behind ALL college sports (Unless your name is Swofford). Clemson is a valueable asset to EVERY conference in America. Some of us are too your to remember (Including myself) but the truth is Clemson has much more football tradition than most programs out there.

We have one of the most dedicated fan bases in the league. We will not be left behind. We will be leading the way. Clemson football is on the rise. Any conference commissioner can see that. We bring money and we bring tradition and we bring fans and we bring dynamic rivalries. What more can a conference ask for?

Dabo Swinney, Chad Morris, and Brent Venables won't let us down.

I mean Dabo, Brent, and Chad won't let us down on the field.

And yes, we are on a first name basis.

" What more can a conference ask for?"

New tv markets, so apparently that does not make us an asset to the sec

Big stadium, nice facilities

But does adding Clemson increase the television contract for the SEC? No, which is why the SEC won't be an option.

Yes the SEC is after the best teams they can get into their conference. But sadly as it is, Clemson won't turn on any new tv viewers for them. So that leaves Clemson in a dark area as far as the SEC is concerned. Now I am hoping that the SEC will look at the amount of TV's the Clemson/USUC game would turn on if they both are in the same conference, and the same division. My fingers are X and hoping that someone will wake up and see that scenario, Hopefully so....
