What's the thinking on Phommachahn?

Just wondering since Lawrence & Brice return in 2020 - and DJU coming in. Didn't know if he might be a t.portal possibility at some point, or if people think he will stay. Given how it's gone for other transfers, I would hope he remains with CU.

I believe Zerrick Cooper is a finalist for The Walter Payton Award at Jacksonville State? Be careful what you ask for.

Taisun is an extremely talented QB and they want to protect his redshirt. He can play one more game this year if needed. Obviously, TL will be the starter in 2020. But, 2021 and beyond is up for competition and Taisun Phommachanh will have an experience advantage on DJ. We're lucky to have him.

Maybe he starts in 2021. Who knows?

My biggest concern is what is Chase Brice going to do? I believe I read he graduates in December and has 2 years eligibility left.

I think we are set either way. If he does leave I hope he finds a place where he can shine like Oklahoma or something and not some dumpster fire.

Agreed. I think there is a good chance Chase leaves after this year. I would not blame him. He is good enough to be playing on a lot of good teams.

I hope he stays but if he does leave, he will always be a Tiger and legend for what he did in the 2018 Syracuse game and never causing a problem or concern.

Dont mean it the bad way but Brice should leave and be a starter elsewhere. It will help Clemson's QB recruiting long term and also the QB room and logjam. Brice will do well even better than Fromm in UGA.

Hate it for us, but he’s going to start somewhere next year and we should all be happy for him. Most valuable backup we’ve had IMO.

If he does decide to stay he could have one Lawrence-less year to be the starter after TL heads to the NFL. He’d obviously have some competition he’d have to beat out, but he’d have a leg up on experience and understanding of the offense. Could be enticing enough to stick around.

play I think
and 5* QB's coming in
he should go play somewhere and then be a 10 year NFL backup QB
maybe he even starts in NFL
he needs more game experience but he is a good QB

DJU passes him on the depth chart and he transfers. Not sure if it will be after the spring game or . . .

If Chase transfers I sure wouldn't blame him and he will always be Clemson Tiger to me. That said, I hope he stays and if he is better for the team he will play. You never know how freshmen are going to perform until they have been on the field and faced college athletes.
