I had that same thought or something closely related when we whiffed on so many tackles vs Notre Dame. For the first time I saw us playing scared.
I attribute that to youth and poor tackling fundamentals which is troubling at this point in the season.

Wonder how well Notre Dame would have tackled had they been missing three starters at the beginning of the game and six at the end? Just saying. Also, trying to tackle a speedy runner in the open field is never a guarantee. I seem to recall Cornel Powell eluding an Irish tackler on our first touchdown.
