5-7 teams to bowls

Nov 27, 2016, 7:11 AM

There are 80 bowl spots. Right now only 74 teams are 6-6 or better. Only 2 more can get to 6-6 next week. So at least 4, and maybe 5 or 6, teams with losing records will go to bowls this year. Maybe it's time to eliminate a few bowls?

There have been way too many bowls for a while now

It takes away from the ones that mean something

I love watching the bowl games but we have to many. You are right on target. Without 80 bowl game spots the coots maybe sitting at home at 6 & 6. So if I were the coots I would not get to hyped up about being bowl eligible. They beat 1 team with a winning record and that team Tenn an underachiever is going through a chaotic period right now. The rest of their wins came from teams with an average of 8 or more loses. One win was over UConn an FCS school and another team from the Southern Conference with 9 or more loses

SC has to endure for the next few years memories of Clemson dropping the hammer on Boom 56-7 and Remember The Citadel from 2015. And they claim they are back. LOL

Go Tigers!

UConn has been FBS since 2002. They beat SCU in the Birmingham Bowl a few years ago.

So Coots have an opportunity to get one more win?

This is not the first year this happens.***

On April 11, 2016 the NCAA announced a three-year bowl moratorium beginning in 2016 going through the next two seasons. There are 9 new bowls proposed once that ban is lifted.
