Ruke Orhorhoro signs rookie deal with Falcons |
The Falcons signed former Clemson defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro to his rookie deal, the organization announced Monday.
Orhorhoro's contract is slotted a total value of $9.9 million with a $4 million signing bonus after a second-round selection. Atlanta held its rookie minicamp over the weekend, started OTA offseason workouts on Monday, and will have a mandatory minicamp June 10-12. Orhorhoro became Clemson’s eighth all-time NFL Draft selection by the Atlanta Falcons, joining DB Rod McSwain (1984), CB Reggie Pleasant (1985), RB Kenny Flowers (1987), DE Malliciah Goodman (2013), DE Vic Beasley (2015), DT Grady Jarrett (2015) and CB A.J. Terrell (2020). Beasley, Jarrett and Terrell all earned at least one Pro Bowl or All-Pro selection, with Jarrett and Terrell still on the roster, in addition to more Clemson pros there in wide receiver/punt returner Ray-Ray McCloud and punter Bradley Pinion. Orhorhoro earned third-team All-ACC honors this past season and finished credited with 97 tackles (25.5 for loss), 12.0 sacks, nine pass breakups and two fumble recoveries in 1,526 career snaps over 53 games (30 starts) from 2019-23 with Clemson. He joins the group of Clemson rookie signings which also includes Nate Wiggins (Ravens; $12.8M total contract), Xavier Thomas (Cardinals; $4.4M total contract) and Tyler Davis (Rams; $4.2M total contract).
