No, he was talking current day. Our model hasn't changed. The only reason Bama model changed is because Saban retired and half the team left. Uga's hasn't changed either. They were using bagmen before it became legal. Still, you have to give them props for recruiting. They kept them ga boys at home.
We just had an unfortunate run of some bad recruiting and non development due to bad coaching hires. That's in the past, Dabo has corrected course. Our recruiting should improve.

The top SEC programs in my lowly opinion were paying players before NIL came along. Remember H. Walker to Georgia deal. This is how they stayed ahead of most. Now that anyone can pay to play legally and you have the portal the top teams of the SEC will have a more difficult time staying on top.
