tampering when there are no rules against it? Maybe a jerky thing to do but it is not illegal.

By refusing to do so, Dabo is playing by rules that he created to hamstring himself.

There very much is a rule against it. The NCAA just appears to never enforce it

A simple solution- ineligible for CFP if found guilty.

Mich St just got some toothless probation for some type of violations. If probation left you out of a bowl and off CFP rankings for a period of time it wouldf help clean this up.

I think if a school gets caught "tampering" they should be banned from accepting portal players for 5 years. That would nip it in the bud.

Thats what they have to say (coach talk). I guarantee you if theres a player going in the portal that we are interested in, somehow, someway he knows Clemson is interested in him. Not gonna make me believe different

There is a rule and the lack of enforcement by the NCAA is what makes the whole thing idiotic.

However, is contacting a players agent prior to the portal window opening a rules violation? I don’t think so.
So Dabo’ staff should reach out to show interest. In my humble opinion.
