Whataburger opens up in Spartanburg

And apparently people camped out the night before.....huge line today when I drove by too.
For all those that have been - is it worth it?
What do you get? Any hidden menu items?

What was the name of chain that Taco Cabana took over after a trademark dispute? It was better before Taco Cabana.

It was Two Pesos. After it changed to Taco Cabana, the quality went downhill.

I’ve eaten at the ones in Texas. They are fine but nothing to get all worked up about.

You have to be from California to get in n out.
You have to be from Texas/Arky to get whataburger.
The people from those places hold those things sacred.
Neither seems that amazing to me. Certainly not waiting in line for 4 plus hours to get one.

Not totally true, I’m from Texas and I love In and Oit and so do the people of Dallas area. I grew up on Whataburger and it’s average at best.

Anything that is sold to private equity usually becomes doo doo. They cut and cut until they can have the fire sale of it's assets and property. See Kmart and Sears.

but none of the five or six new ones currently opening in the upstate of SC. That said, at the end of the day, it's still just a fast food burger, and why anyone would camp out to eat there is beyond me. Sounds like a case of some people with WAAAAAAAAAY too much time on their hands.

it's because you choose to be. Practically every business in the area is trying to hire more people.
Heck...the Wally World distribution facility down in Laurens will hire anyone under 80 that hasn't been dead for more than three days. No drug screening and pretty much unlimited days off.

I think when you're 8 and on a trip and you've been waiting for a Whataburger for hours, it tastes better. Plus taste buds probably worn out 60 yrs later.

This is not the first WHATABURGER in SC. There were several years ago. The last one in West Columbia closed in the late 1980's or early 90's.

Ate at one in Lakeland, Fl in 1971. It was pretty good but not great, don't search them out I like Hardee's better. Steak & Shake is better for burgers, butt don't order the god-awful milk shake.
