Since the 1890’s Clemson..aka: Clemson A&M, Clemson College and Clemson Univ..has been known in the South and later nationally after 1939 Team won upset victory in Cotton Bowl over BC, as a strong advocate & major supporter of college football.

Saying, Can’t imagine CU without a football program but same goes for scores of other colleges such as Alabama, UGa, Norte Dame..or UNC being a college without basketball.

Strange isn’t it, that many of our institutions of “higher” learning have virtually always had a sport on campus that exemplified its importance in the academic world..

And that main sport sometimes runs the show on campus financially and/or has equal or sometimes more clout than the university’s administration or student body..

And now a few of the football stars make way more $ than the President or faculty that teaches them.

YES, Strange especially when so many college sports fans across America know about Clemson now to be a strong & successful supporter of football with a most unique coach named Dabo..

but less than 1/10000% know about our equally prolific President who basically oversees & runs the entire CLEMSON University campus.

I was talking to a friend before baseball season about something similar. Like how I know nothing about Wichita State University, except they had a great baseball team from 1980 through about 2010. That was their thing.

the cost of attendance might be a bit higher and the town would be a lot smaller.

The answer to this and anything in the world is follow the money. Its the money the town and university generate b/c of the football program.
