Smaller schools with less alumni, and resources had to see this coming when it started. That’s not to say Clemson doesn’t have money, but to think it’s A&M, Texas, Bama, Oregon, ND money, and a few others is crazy.

I’ve been grilled on this site for saying this. It’s so obvious and many don’t want to believe it. We will always lose out if it comes to money.
Rev share is just a 2nd avenue to pay players and ask us for money. Ask us for NIl, rev share, and Iptay. And it’s nothing compared to the bigger schools. All so the players can buy nicer cars and diamond chains

Clemson has plenty of money, however, the way that Dabo has decided to do it is the best way. We have the number seven recruiting class in the country at this moment. These kids didn’t come to Clemson without a nice NIL package. Unfortunately, I believe this kid has been pimped out. Clemson offered him and he should’ve taken it. But instead, I believe he was swayed by outside, influences to take as much money as he could. When someone is that money, hungry he won’t be around Texas A&M when it’s all said and done. In my opinion, watching him commit to Texas A&M the kid didn’t look very happy to me. But of course, mama did.

Long story short…Dabo can’t recruit the big time 5 star gamechangers like he use to. Those days are long gone and so is our elite status🤷♂️

I had a backdoor neighbor a few years back, he had a Masters degree, a really smart guy and if you weren't sure you could ask him. He was a Clemson but his brilliance saw him assert that winng the championship in 81 was the worst thing that could happen to us as it set an expectation that could never be repeated. According to him there was too much money, we are to little and we just didn't have anything with which to compete. A shirt time later we were playing for and winning championships again.
I never asked him to remind me the appropriate treatment for false prophets...
