It was like the ending of a movie. Amazing. The kick that Hocker had at the end was amazing. Looked effortless.

That was awesome. Not only that the Americans took gold and bronze in an event that the US has struggled in recently (save for Centrowitz winning in 2016), but to do so after being almost completely overlooked by the media. Everyone was so focused on the beef between Ingebrigtsen and Kerr that they gave almost no consideration to anyone else. I thought that this was strange heading into the event (although I know it's very convenient for me to say that now lol) because Nuguse has looked excellent for several years now, and Hocker looked very fast at the US trials. It was like everyone just forgot about them all of a sudden because of the hyper fixation on Ingebrigtsen and Kerr. So it was very satisfying to watch the Americans pull the surprise and supplant the European drama. And let's not forget about Hobbs Kessler either. The third American in the event, he finished just behind Ingebrigtsen in 5th place. He's only 21 years old, and he's contesting the 1500 AND the 800 for the US at this Olympics, something that hasn't been done by a US man in decades. Insanely impressive.
