Told yall
Here’s how to win this game
Put Garris in.
Lean on Garris in the 8th
Then, depending on how Garris looks in the 8th you can make that judgment then.
Mahlstedt should’ve been taken out after he gave up some hits in the 8th inning of the first game.
Mahlstedt is the best closer statistically in the country.
But I think Garris could be similarly as good if you flip flopped their roles.
15 saves is absolutely incredible, but it’s okay to make business decisions in the late innings.
We’re at a point where we have to forget determined “roles”.
If Garris looks good keep him in
Offensively…
I appreciate when an offense is able to play small ball well, and manufacturing runs.
But please only bunt if it’s a player that can actually do it.
At this point we know the players that are confident in getting a good one down.
Not Jarrell, Not Priest, Not Gaffney, Not Paino
The other 5 and even Jay Dillard, who is coming along well, can do it decently.

Great assessment part of me hated taking out Garris last night he looked really good just for malstedt to get hit by there lineup but hindsight is 20/20 malstedt is one of the best in the biz.

Hindsight is 20/20, but I didn’t hate Malsteadt going in. If they’re going to beat you, make them beat your best pitcher. They beat our best pitcher. It happens, I’d still rather they have to go through Garris and Malsteadt in order to win a game than some of our other bullpen arms

I have no doubt Coach B was excited to learn what to do. Really?
