He knew it wasn't a strike, but called it anyway. Kept calling strikes for them off the outside edges,

The 3-2 pitch to Scott earlier in the game is the one that changed the game. 2 outs Tigers leading by a run. He punches her out, and you keep the lead and maybe tack on some insurance next half inning. He was really inconsistent late in the game. We still should have walked it off in the 9th though.

he called two other close ones balls in that at bat, so he didn't want to make it 3 for 3 balls on close pitches.
