HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Fueled by 22 birdies and an eagle, Clemson women’s golf opened the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in strong fashion on Friday, posting a 283 (-5) to sit in a tie for third place at Highlands Ranch Golf Club. The Tigers trail only Vanderbilt (-17) and Colorado (-12) after the opening round.
Seniors Isabella Rawl and Sydney Roberts led the charge with late surges on the back nine. Rawl closed with five birdies in her last 10 holes en route to a 68 (-4), placing her in a tie for eight individually. Roberts matched the effort with five birdies of her own over her final 10 holes, finishing with a 69 (-3) to sit tied for eleventh.
Junior Ivy Schulze provided steady play with an even-par 72 that included a 2-under 34 on the front nine. While freshman Sarah Uebelhart carded a 74 (+2). Keya Naik rounded out the lineup with an 80 (+8).
Competing as an individual, Juliette Demeaux turned in a 73 (+1), highlighted by a 2-under front nine.
Clemson’s 283 matches Texas State’s round and gives the Tigers a three shot advantage over both Denver and Tulane at 2-under.
