For all of those that may be interested,
A very few cities across America are selected to host the mobile version of the Vietnam Memorial, “The Wall That Heals”.
The Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC is one of the most visited sites in the world.
“The Wall That Heals” is the exact replica of the Vietnam Memorial, and it travels across the Country to the few cities that are selected out of hundreds of applicants. “The Wall That Heals” is a 3/4 scale version of the original Memorial. It spans 375 feet in length and holds the names of the over 58,000 men and women that gave their lives for our Country.
This week, “The Wall That Heals” will be on display in the Easley / Liberty SC area.
This Memorial will be open from Wednesday May 14 at Midnight through Sunday May 18 at 2 pm. Again, it has been a 4-year process to get The Wall to our city here in the Upstate of South Carolina.
The “Wall” will be located on display at
Deer Wood Farms 765 Breazeale Rd Liberty SC 29657
I was honored to be on site yesterday when “The Wall” arrived at the site, enclosed in a 53 ft trailer, led by a parade of dozens of Veterans on Motorcycles, along with a large host of Law Enforcement officers and vehicles.
Over the last 24 hours, many volunteers and law enforcement have constructed The Wall, and it is now available for the public to visit.
“The Wall That Heals” is open to the Public and Media, 24 hours a day. There is NO CHARGE to visit.
The Wall must be staffed 24 hours a day and will have law enforcement on site 24 hours a day as an honor to the men and women who are being memorialized.
Watching the construction of The Wall was quite emotional, and seeing this mobile memorial is nothing short of inspirational.
As an added gesture, TAPS will be played at Sunset on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. On Friday, a ceremony honoring the victims of the Agent Orange chemical will take place. The closing ceremonies will be this Sunday at approximately 2 pm.
We encourage all who can, please visit this great Memorial and bring others with you.

I'm there right now. (At DC) Taking the blue metro to national Mall to see it all at night. Truly amazing, the wwII and Korean war memorials are just as special. Along with the prayer for the nation. It definitely gives you a sense of pride and new perspective.

I have seen it when it was in Greenwood a few years back. A feature is that the names are listed in the order of death- easy to locate names of guys you served with. I couldn’t visit at a time that they play Taps - that makes me completely lose it at funerals so I know it would do the same there. Have to fight it when it is played in the Valley on Veterans Appreciation Day.

Thank you for sharing.
It came to my hometown a couple of years ago, and was a great experience.
