They moved out of the old building that has been on campus for decades and built a combined use building down by the golf course. Big visitor center. Alumni stuff moved down there. Pro shop on the bottom corner.

Massive upgrade for hosting visiting students doing college tours along with space for Alumni events. No clue if they’ll move Ready Set Roar down there or keep hosting it in the Brooks.

Only downside is since they needed a lot of space they built it down by the golf course/lake. So it’s kind of a hike to get to parts of main campus.

IMO seems remote from campus and downtown businesses. Whatever?***

I agree, but the problem is where else would you put it that has enough room?

Might have been able to squeeze it into lots 21 & 22 and relocate those spaces to the Anderson Mall.

As a former Tour Guide, that was my first thought. I dont know the specific place on the golf course this building sits. But regardless, that is a long walk to campus to just start the tour. I guess you can use it as another form of admission requirement. IE. You have to walk up from the pit parking lot to enroll?

I am sure there is a plan. Its a nice building. And I am sure it was funded through private gifts. But that is a very large space to maintain.

Agreed

It’s a catch 22. They needed the space to build this massive building which seems super nice and multipurpose.

On the flip side needing all of that space means it’s not on the main part of campus. I assume they’ll bus people up to start their tour.

Clemson has had this issue for a while now. The lake boxes you in from the bottom, and downtown boxes you in from the top. There isn’t a lot of obvious room to expand now that they already built the new biz building and Douthit.
