Well I decided to take the wife on a 15 minute trip to Raleigh to see the Tigers against the Wuffies. It was a “bit” (pun intended) against my better judgement to see what this Tiger basketball team was all about, but I did it anyway, fully expecting to walk out of the Lenovo Center with anticipated disappointment.
Wow, was I wrong!! In the 2nd half, I thought I saw them try to spit the bit, but somehow Brownell tightened and loosened the reins perfectly and kept them under control and poised.
I’m still quite jaded on what this team can do in the post season, but this is the result of 40 years of…well, you know.
But, for a 2 hour adventure, I came away really feeling I had gotten my money’s worth.
Keep believing. Glad you went. This team's built different. We have all veteran leadership and that makes a difference. Got a good bench with little to no drop-off.
As for the post season. We're in, probably get a high seed, 6 or better. So we should have a great shot to 32. But they don't call it March madness for nothing. So much depends on seeding. Just takes one team that squeezed in to get hot and make a run. Even if we run into that buzzsaw, it won't take away from the historical season we will have had.
Plus, we're building more stability. We could always be that team that gets the hot hand. Saying, won't surprise me if we make a deep run. It's pretty hard to beat 3 top teams and advance to the 8. Go Tigers.
