So three ACC teams made the 64-team basketball playoff.

So the ACC makes up a little more than five percent of the tourney field. If you count UNC's consolation bid and expand the pool to 68 then the ACC makes up almost six percent of the field.
Meanwhile, two ACC teams made the 12-team football playoff. Meaning the ACC made up almost 18 percent of the football playoff field.
So is the ACC a football conference now?
Go Tigers.

I'm very confident in the maths.
The ACC made up a larger share of the CFP than the NCAA tournament. That this fact is unpalatable to many passionate ACC basketball fans does not negate it.
Therefore, it is reasonable to wonder whether the ACC's push to expand its football footprint in pursuit of an ever-greater share of overall athletics revenues, is beginning to come to fruition.
I for one am grateful that the ACC has had the courage to embrace this vision. Clemson did it when hiring Dabo Swinney and look at what has come to pass.
UNC blazed a similar trail recently by hiring Bill Belichick, and I expect their football success under his leadership (and the resulting financial windfall) will emolden other basketball programs to follow suit.
Because the money has been, is, and always will be in football. The sooner these basketball schools learn this, the better off the ACC will be in the long-term.
All that's needed now is for Coach Brownell to take what he's learned in his 15 seasons under Dabo Swinney and apply it at IU, another storied basketball school whose program has fallen on hard times but whose football team also made the CFP.

Wins over McNeese State, San Diego State, Mt. St. Marys/American, and Creighton would tell the world the ACC is most definitely back.

ACC leads in winning percentage and Elite 8 appearances over the last 5 tournaments. They never left. They just don't get any respect.

Doesn't matter because it will change every year.

The AcC basketball has dropped virtually every year for the past 15. Sure, we had a top heavy team or two, but the quality of the league is built around the entire league and face it, our league stinks. Are we football league, yes. Then, baseball, soccer, golf, softball, tennis, track, gymnastics etc and way down the list, is basketball.

But all is not lost, assuming the ACC is willing to embrace its burgeoning identity as a football conference.
This is especially true now that the SEC is shifting its focus from football to basketball -- something our esteemed colleague Francis Marion has pointed out.

I’m afraid a slightly deeper analysis will reveal this conference stinks in both fb and bb.
