I lived at Tiger Towne across the road for 2 years. Shootings at Dawson park and the neighborhood on the backside of TT/Old Stone Church were normal. About every 2-3 weeks or so, there’d be gunshots. We’d notice them and just go about our day. A CU Alert never went out any of those times, so I find it odd that it did yesterday (I’m still signed up so I got the text), especially with campus being mostly bare this time of year.

Based on the history of a CU Alert never being issued on any of the occasions when gunshots were fired across from us at Dawson park (which is where the gunshots yesterday took place) or behind us on Ligon St during my 2 years (2021-2023) of living at Tiger Towne, yes, it did seem odd/unusual to me. Did me thinking it seemed/unusual means I view the alert going out yesterday as a bad thing? Absolutely not. But if you want to continue to push that narrative, be my guest.
