Between his unique delivery and his personality he was fun to watch. Not to mention he was pretty darn good. I am a little surprised he is not in the HOF.

takes me back to losing the series in 1975. I was 11 years old and cried. My dad told me to buck up because losing the series was part of being a good Sox fan. Then we won the World Series and I have felt like the world was out of sorts since then. I swear the demise of the entire country is based on that...lol.

I had just moved to Massachusetts in the sixth grade a huge Big Red Machine fan. I wore my Pete Rose jersey to school during the World Series getting a lot of eat 💩 looks. Greatest World Series ever to this date!

We had season tickets for Sox, Bruins, Celts and Pats. Very blessed child 🙂

I pestered him in his office about 15 years ago when he was coaching for Savannah College of Art and Design. What a big game pitcher!
