in 1989, and TODAY you can still see evidence of it around. Coming off I-26 on Highway 15 toward Holly Hill, there is still visual evidence of what I call "The Matchstick Forest", where Hugo snapped all the pine trees off like so many match sticks.
Having lived in this area my entire life, there are only two hurricanes that stand out in memory. Hurricane Gracie, when I was 5 years old (1959) and, of course, the worst of them all, Hugo in 1989.
Hugo was hands down the worst.

I'm hoping it will run the Ohioans, New Jerseyians and New Yorkers out. but if its like last time, they'll buy up what gets sold and just take control.

For whatever reason it just doesn't work as decor up here in the mountains of SW Virginny, but yes, his work is easily recognizable. I think hers are of the Battery and maybe a non-beachy country road/barn?
