One writer says we will not win ten games. Here is one that says we will.

Clemson Tigers Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports © Clemson Wire ACC winner
Clemson drops a spot, but that's for a specific reason. Clemson walking away from the 2024 regular season and conference championship weekend with one loss is a brutally difficult task. The ACC is going to be much better than people realize, and the Tigers should be better too. Florida State got worst from my perspective, and I don't trust Mario Cristobal to get the Miami Hurricanes over the hump.

He seems to be speaking out of both sides of the mouth: "the ACC is going to be much better than people realize...". Then immediately following that statement, "Florida state got worst..." and "I don't trust Mario Cristobal to get the Miami Hurricanes over the hump."
So if FSU regresses and Miami is the same, how does the ACC become "brutally difficult"?

I dont think most people are as down on Miami as this guy is. I agree FSU should take a step back. NC State, VT, and Syracuse will take a step forward. And SMU will do better than most people think.. in my opinion.

The guy is a freelance sports photographer based out of Boston that essentially knows nothing about college football. Just don't click on this garbage and he'll go back to covering the NHL.

----The D might be less, but will still be solid. ----Improvement at every position in the O is expected. ----The team is not void of talent at any position.
To me this looks to be a very good year for CLEMSON. There are games we should loose like UGA and FS, but Dabo made his mark wining games like that. In the other 10 we are seen as competitive. We could loose as many as 7 of these, but we could win them all.
When teams you play are on your level (like most are for us this year) the Coach becomes very important. Dabo is time tested and proven to be one of the "Greats".
I like our chances of "at least" 10 wins this year.

I’ve never understood why a fan of a team would say, “We should lose to (whatever team the media undeservedly pumped up).”
Clemson can win every game on the schedule, I don’t see a reason to go into a season another way. Disappointment from a loss is not that painful, but winning a game you spent months pessimistic about has to feel like the Tommy Bowden days.

I learned last season that my expectations can be very wrong

Going into the year I was worried only about ND and we easily won against them .... the losses we had should have been wins according to me.

I agree with your approach. I guess I have a different view of the words expect and expectations. I have expectations of myself and to a certain extent expectations for my kids and that’s about it. I have learned not to expect what I don’t have influence over. I don’t expect to lose any games. Nor do I have the expectation of winning every game. I do hope to win every game, right up until there is no hope left. Look no further than the NC State game in 2016 for a great example. I remember as they were lining up for that potential game winning chip shot field goal, putting my head down and saying, “if there really is something in these hills, and I believe there is, now would be a good time to see it”. And sure enough they miss and we win in overtime. Wonder how many fans would say they were expecting us to lose in that moment if they were being honest. And those who say hope isn’t a strategy should remember that moment as well. Hope was about all we had and it worked out for us.
