Good Morning, Skeeta56. I wanted to check in with a final report on the Women's

US Senior Open that was just completed. Japanese golfer Kaori Yamamoto had that tournament firmly under control through three rounds, at -7, with her closest competitors at -2 and -3. Among those at -2 in 4th place were Juli Inkster and Annika Sorenstam. I thought if Yamamoto faltered at all, her challenge would come from one of those two.

Yamamoto shot an even par 71 on Sunday, but neither Sorenstam or Inkster ever got anything going. But someone else sure did! Short hitting American Leta Lindley (Stats amazingly say she only averaged 199.4 yards on her drives for the week, good for 52nd in the field!) came up with a sterling 7 under 64 on Sunday, to charge from five behind and win it by two shots.

Her five birdies on the front nine had already overhauled Yamamoto by the turn, and it was a two woman match play fight pretty much the rest of the way, as 3rd place was four shots back of Yamamoto. Lindley added two more birdies in her bogey free round on the back nine, to hoist the trophy she had been trying to win for three years.

I don't care who you are, if you can shoot 64 in the final round of a Major, while averaging less than 200 yards a drive, you are "golfing your ball"! Salute!
