NFL Draft

Could. Not. Care. Less.
I know there's always been arrogance and characters in the draft, but it seems that these days, more and more of these kids - and they are still that, just kids, really - feel entitled and that they deserve to go in the first round or even the first pick. There doesn't seem to be a lot of appreciation for the opportunity they're being given and the HUGE sums of money that will soon be dropped into their bank accounts for - at this point - absolutely nothing but expectations. They feel like they deserve it and these teams owe THEM rather than them owing these teams for the crazy financial investment these owners/managers are making in them. Every now and then we see a little humility and appreciation for it, but it seems like that's becoming less and less common. I'd venture to say that, as their NFL career progresses, we'll see that the humble players end up doing better in the long term than their more entitled counterparts. But what do I know.
Old guy rant over. Have a great weekend and Go Tigers (lacrosse, softball, and baseball)! Let's beat the Heels, sweep the bees, and take the series from the puppies!

forgot about it and did not watch a minute. Last year I would check a list of who got drifted because of a local kid I've seen play in HS. This year there are a few other locals from the area but since they are buckeyes I will be bombarded with it in the media whether I want to see it or not

But I hope you feel better, buddy.
You clearly had something you needed to get off your chest.

for every iced out diva in a $5K suit dripping with diamond chains there’s another guy breaking down in tears thanking God and his parents for the blessing he’s now receiving.
If you don’t wanna see Ashton Jeanty bouncing off of the walls in the tunnel because he’s overjoyed
Or Mason Graham wishing he was walking out onto the practice field to get to work instead of a stage
Or Kelvin Banks in tears
Or Jalon Walker hugging his family
Then don’t watch
PS you cared enough about it to start a thread to let us know how much you don’t care

Exactly. The narrative that these players are all selfish unappreciative people couldn't be more wrong. They have worked their whole lives this far for their opportunity for this life changing moment for themselves and their families. It's beautiful generally. It's generally heartwarming.

I enjoy day 2 of the draft better. It's obviously not so slow.
