Navy ROTC at Clemson

Since Clemson has such a long and prestigious military history, I am surprised that there is no Navy ROTC offered. My nephew was accepted to Clemson for the fall semester and he aspires to be a chaplain in the Navy. It is concerning that his only options for naval ROTC in the state are the Citadel, which has no religious studies program, and USuCks. He has worked so hard to get into Clemson and he is super excited about his acceptance, but if he can't meet his career goals there, he doesn't have a lot of choices. I am just so bummed about the possibility of him having to go to USuCks to meet his career goals because Clemson can't give him what he needs, this shouldn't happen.

The recruiter who came to his high school told him that he could do any kind of ROTC in college and then switch branches. I have seen nothing that indicates that this is the case, especially after your sophomore year because I believe that is when service commitments begin.

Maybe he can reach out to some of them via LinkedIn for advice
If he’s not resourceful enough to have figured this out, he might not be officer material.

He doesn't know any of this yet, he is going by what the recruiter told him which was that he could do any ROTC program and switch branches. This is only true if you stop ROTC after your sophomore year. Also, he's 17 not an adult with 30 or more years of life experience, so he believed what the military guy standing in front of him told him. Rational and true.

Thank you for your input and advice, nobody else has been able to offer anything as helpful. I think he would rather take the OCS route and avoid going to Carolina, but I could be wrong. Sorry for the retaliatory snark, LOL.
