This one makes me sad. Wissam was the first recruit for Coach Brandon Wagner when he came to Clemson. First one to buy into the vision of making Clemson a good tennis program again. Important part of the team last year, playing #1 and #2. This year he split time between 1, 2 and 3 before a foot injury sidelined him for the last few matches of the year.

One of the more fun players to watch on the team as far as style of play and attitude on court.

All of his teammates wished him well after this announcement, so I guess there's no bad blood or anything like that for the transfer. Not sure why he is moving on but the coaches will have to go to the portal themselves to hopefully find a replacement.

They said with a foot injury that he could’ve come back from. But the fact he didn’t for the tournament makes you wonder if something else was going on too.

He would’ve been in the lineup next year for sure. I heard someone who knows stuff around college tennis that there is some serious tampering going on with the French players. And sure enough right after Wissam’s announcement that same account posted the #5 player for Florida, also from France, entering the portal.

For next year: the made an announcement in the fall that Yannic Nittman from Germany is joining the team for Fall of 2025. But I didn’t find much info on how good he is and I haven’t been able to find that announcement post since so not sure if that’s still happening.

There’s several transfer portal targets from smaller schools we could go after, like the #1 player from MTSU, #1 fron UC Irvine are a couple who would be good pickups. Also the #3 for Oregon who is from Alpharetta, GA could be looking to get back closer to home.

Not much info for confirmed players for next year yet but should have more soon
