Just connected with a former player/insider into the program.

LVL was stealing signs - had our number dialed in.

Catching up.

yeah, on the offensive side... this is Defense. You know we still call them in now right?

The defense has helmet comms, too.

Barrett Carter usually wears the green dot helmet for our defense.

Thats our fault then and I don't know why Wes signals in the defensive plays when he could be talking over the headset to Carter or whomever he deems to be the QB of the defense.

Sign stealing went out the door when the helmet comms came.

Even so, even before the comms in the helmet, if you didn't have redundancy and variation in your signals, thats your fault short of the Michigan guy (that documentary on that guy was awesome.. Navy academy grad who was a savant on sign stealing and tendencies when Navy was so good).

Bowden's / Rich Rod's first year in 1999 we ran an Indy set (fast tempo) that had 10 plays (Indy 1-10).... odd numbers were pass, even were runs. Never huddled once that whole year. Opposing defensive coordinators at the end of the game said they knew what we were running but couldn't signal in the defensive call fast enough. Not to mention we would sub last minute from a 5 wide to a jumbo package, especially on short yardage on our hash. They came out with the Bowden rule in 2000 on illegal substitutions.

Some teams still use 'hand signals'...

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The question is how did they do it?

Did they do it my legal means? Did they use Connor Stalions methods? Did they hack into the helmet communications? Or did they just decode the signs signaled in from the sideline?

Good for them as long as they weren't cheating to do it***

Isn't it just a case of them maneuvering us and still getting the better of us overall?

Even if they were stealing signs, we just didn't show up. It wasn't our night. I got invited to sit in the west zone , and when UL was driving towards us, the hole in the middle was so wide that I looked at my wife and said I could push our 95 year moms in their wheel chairs through it for at least ten yards. It was a bad night, it happens. Our fans were electric, that's our job! Go Tigers

Not illegal, people steal signals all the time. Still isn't the reason Clemson lost.
