I’m not saying that Dabo is going to tap Lorenzo Ward, but he did bring him on as special assistant to the HC this season

And the man always has a plan

I’m not sure how I’d feel about that. He had some really good patches and some really bad patches

In some ways he’s a little like venables was when dabo hired him

Goodwin. Was ok the first couple of years with Ellis Johnsons players but it kept getting worse the farther they got from Johnsons departure.
Looks the same with Goodwin. He was living off Venebles evaluation and coaching, but its continually getting worse.

Please God say you are trolling! I was actually thinking that Lorenzo Ward is the one that needs to be fired. Ever since Ward joined the defensive staff, we have gotten worse. Not to mention he was also fired from the coots for being a TERRIBLE DC

I want him gone

If they fire Conn, they should look at promoting Ward to Safeties coach if Reed does not take over the entire secondary. He would be an improvement over Conn at that position. Conn is currently the Co-DC and Safeties coach, Ward could move into that position relatively easily and he has a background as a secondary coach. I dont love the idea, but moving him to Safeties coach would make pretty good sense, just not making him a DC......

The plan was to assist his young and inexperienced DC; continuing with a proven ineffective strategy would not be wise.

I think it’s time to give Reed a shot at running the defense and backfill his position with an up and comer like Doug Belk. This would also get him out of special teams to find someone with more time to focus on that team.
