He really needs to take a page out of Cams book. How coach says Cam gets mad when he gets walked. Listi goes up there looking to walk. 2 middle middle fastballs and he just watches them I don’t get it

I love to watch Cam. I didn’t have his talent but I played until 27. I used to get angry when I walked as well. I got benched for swinging at a 3-0 pitch because coach knew it wasn’t a real swing because the ball was two feet outside. I still walked. But I didn’t finish the game. The pitcher couldn’t buy a strike. It was my 2nd at bat in the inning too.

I’m not mad at Listi’s approach. His avg and OBP is great. We give up too many runs. No team gives up crooked numbers and wins post season games. Yea, there are exceptions.

What I’ve had issues with is personnel choices. Where has Bissetta been? Why was McLaddie on the bench so many games? I don’t get to see practice and what’s going on behind the scenes but it makes me wonder what they said to EB or did wrong.

I would tend to agree Listi’s approach is positive when he has such a high OBP. But when you have a time that has no run producers right now walking gets you no where. What good does getting to first do if no one can bring him in you know? At some point somebody has to make the pitchers pay for thinking they can serve middle middle fastballs no consequences

Take the strikes, putting yourself in the hole at 0-2 or 1-2, then the pitcher has you!! Then swing at the bad pitch for strike 3. We have one guy who seldom gets more than one swing every at bat. He stands there and watches the first 2 strikes virtually every time and the entire year has batted at 0-2 or 1-2, usually striking out. I just do not understand the passivity and going to the plate trying to get a walk while the good teams go up there trying to knock down the fences and spray line drives all over the field. Sorry....don't get this?

again, we are paying a hitting coach for something? We have seen no improvement all year, actually gotten worse if thats possible. There has to be some changes and/or accountability. My bigger questions are with roster talent? We have pitchers on this team that should not be on the roster at this level and that falls back on coaching? did we miss totally on all these evaluations? IF SO, then that is a huge problem. We dont have any power arms that you need that can throw 95+, and that is a must for winning consistently at this level. The hitting just looks sad, how did all these players underperform or did we miss on all these guys also from a talent standpoint? We have to be better in the offseason at evaluating players and or fixing issues via the portal.
