Was a thing of beauty. He was robbed by the ump on at least 3 pitches in late innings which would have kept his no hitter going and kept him in game.
You have to be a real POS ump to not give a close pitch to a pitcher who is pitching a no hitter late in the game. ANYTHING, ANYTHING close that could be called either way has to go to the no hit pitcher. You could tell Knaak was dissed about it bur kept his cool.
An outstanding performance, he was a bit gassed at the end, but there aren’t many major league pitchers, much less college pitchers who can still be effective at 100+ pitches.
