I think i missed it but what is the rationale again for Peter Woods playing

defensive end? Did Tj Parker play? Lose his spot to Woods? Woods is a proto interior DL. I know their OL was Pro level and many will not be able to get after the QB consistently but we never got pressure or threatened to get pressure. Is this another depth issue for us?

he needs to be on the inside find another DE.We get no pressure on the QB. Not even pro teams play 311 lbs DE. Totally out of position.

They were close to sacking Beck quite a few times. We have to remember they were up against one of the best, if not the best OL in the country
|

It gives us our best players in the field and we needed a defensive end anyway. It was a need.

Parker did play, and Woods is a proto interior DL, I agree. He mentioned in his interview that he was looking forward to being on DE, and spoke with Wilkins over the summer about being versatile along the line. That's all I know. I wish we had one more just like him honestly.

He’s not an elite pass rusher. He peaked last year in a few games when he had 5 sacks all in that span

We need our best on the field. Interior defensive line is very stout. He is fast enough for defensive end.

no he's quick but not fast enough put him back at his natural spot and put in a true DE.

2 things are not mutually exclusive. We are a little thin at DE and we have an abundance of talent at DT. Wood’s, Capeheart and Page are as good as there is on College Football. Tre Williams might be now that he is healthy. It is very tough to run the football on a front of Parker, Woods and those DTs

Because we are thin as #### at DE, that's why. We missed on Patterson, he's a bust.

Woods registered a sack and 2 tackles for losses. Seems like he did just fine at DE.
