JUCO...so..how long before a junior goes pro...plays that year and gets cut and comes back to school...I see no difference.

The NCAA needs to get some better lawyers. Remember back when thatvCasey guy sued Augusta under the ADA laws saying he needed a golf cart. Augusta said,"Tough luck...our rules are our rules"
I see no difference in that and the NCAA saying,"Here are our rules. Play by them or don't play...it is your choice".

yeppers, just let players be 'forever students' in the college semi-pro league. esecpn would be happy with that conclusion.

Not sure the law suit has technically been fully adjudicated or "won".
The Judge has issued a temporary injunction prohibiting the NCAA from baring Pavia playing another year, either at Vandy or elsewhere. It currently only applies to Pavia and Vandy.
The judge is waiting for additional responses from the NCAA and will have a statement in a short time. He can either dismiss the case, find for the NCAA or find for Pavia.
If the NCAA loses, JC seasons played will not count against the NCAA 4 to play 5 rule. If the court find favor with the NCAA, the case will be heard by the courts with, I believe, appeals to follow.
If the court finds favor for Pavia et al, the NCAA will NOT pursue appeals and will grant JUCO players their suit to regain the penalized lost JUCO years.
The NCAA is a shell of power of it's former self. It has digressed to a governing body where they are concerned more about expanding the college football playoffs and increasing the college basketball tournament eligible teams. Kind of odd since the NCAA is empowered by University and College Presidents!

ANGC

Augusta National Golf Club is private and does not have to follow all of the rules. Several weeks ago, I posted on here asking if there was a way to make a private club for the top football teams to join. I live in the Augusta area and am aware of what ANGC does and was using their situation as my inspiration for my question.

Notice how private schools do not have all of the NIL reporting rules like public schools? Different rules. I know that all rules cannot be avoided but some can. I remember my first skiing trip to Utah and had to pay a dollar at a restaurant to join a “private club” so that I could order a beer. Things have changed there now but they used the “private club” to get around liquor laws. There has got to be a way to use the”private club” to get around some of the NCAA nonsense.

Can of worms opened.

Questions;

1. Why can't a kid play 2 years in JUCO, 4 in NAIA and 4 in NCAA? (Think of them a A, AA and AAA baseball?)

2. What is so special about 4? It's just an arbitrary number. Why can't a kid play 6 or 8 or 12 years as long as he's in college?

3. And, Spuds question - Why can't a kid go from the NFL or NBA back to college. Major league baseball players go back to the minors fairly often.
