I totally AGREE with you.......I'm 76 years old and a Clemson grad (BS Eng.). Throughout the years, EVERYTIME I remember lots of 'hype' before the football season began, we typically underperformed and apparently drank the koolaid RAT POISON. Saban was/is RIGHT!

similar age to you. Not every time did we underperform but enough of it so it is a concern. Track record with Dabo has been far better than the norm. To me the low mark for performing was a great '75 team that was coming off a solid 74 season and managed to go 2-9 and look even worse than that record shows. Probably the worst CLemson team I recall and I was in school during the Hootie error (not a misspell or auto correct)

That hasn’t been the case under Dabo, it’s that kind of thinking that gave us the “C” word.
We had high expectations all throughout the 2010’s & lived up to everyone of them.
Just like 2021- The first game of the season will dictate whether we’re natty material or not

i have been scoffing at preseason prognostications because I wanted to see my tigers at the top
- turns out they have it nailed last few years
this much smoke and high expectations are a good thing - dabo keeps um grounded

Not necessarily rat poison at all... how many years has Dabo not performed up to preseason expectations? If Clemson is going to be great again , you gotta expect the publicity and personally I like it.. I hate it when I'm craving some Clemson pub and don't get it, which has happened more in the last 4 years(2020-2024) then the previous 4 years(2015-2019)4 national championship game appearances.... we are due!

I prefer when we are under the radar, the underdog, etc…. But I feel those days are gone, because of our success….. if you are going to run with the big dogs, you have top learn how to handle it… I think Dabo has learned, and we have the right balance of hungriness, desire, as well as humbleness, not taking it for granted…. The lights are shining, I feel good Dabo will manage it and keep this team motivated…….
Sure beats not being spoken about, no expectations, etc…. Go Tigers!!
