Heres what I propose for NIL:

All money goes to a trust for the athlete that they can receive once they complete their degree.

If the athlete transfers, he/she forfeits their $ from school a, the money goes back in to the pile at school a, and they can still get money from the new school, school b.

This puts all incentives on graduating and gives good programs / schools more leverage in the negotiation side of NIL. It discourages transfers, unless schools are willing to really pony up the $ (which they still would be open to doing).

I’m sure my system has flaws but that’s what I’ve been saying since I was in college (2013-2017).

Great idea, however, th problem with that is its endorsement earnings not paid by the University. That would be like putting your paycheck in a trust. Breaks too many laws. Courts have ruled we cannot cap, put restrictions on, or infringe on a student athletes ability to earn through NIL. The only chance we have is codification by Congress, the Senate, and President. Tommy Tuberville is introducing legislation to bring common sense rules to what is essentially the Wild West. There are no laws governing NIL so these judges are interpreting existing labor laws quite poorly.

Yep. Agree to something like this or be held to the same admission standards

After the horses are gone.

There is no solution for NIL at this point.

How about doing away with NIL and bring back college athletics.

What court will rule that constitutional?

The NFL can't take the money Patrick Mahomes makes form NIL (outside endorsements) and put it into a trust fund. Why do you think the courts would allow the NCAA to take money Arch Manning makes from outside endorsements and put it into a trust?

We keep focusing on the players. We need to focus on how the schools can be regulated.

Note: I like your idea in general. But, unfortunately, it won't pass the legal test.
