As many have posted, Wes Goodwin is a seemingly introverted, low key, intellectual type, with no coaching experience before this year.

Most of us agree that experience is needed, and a Type A personality may be in order also. I can't imagine why Dabo thought someone like Wes would succeed in the very fast paced, pressure packed world of a DC at a place like Clemson.

Is it simply Dabo being faithful to a fault to his "family"?

I'd guess Wes is smart and his analysis was a large part of BV's success. Dabo didn't want to lose both at once, so gave it a shot. It's not working out.

When a highly successful coordinator leaves for a promotion and you’re left with a highly successful unit you don’t tear it down by going outside. You promote within. I think Dabo simply felt Wes was his best option as a play caller and took a risk.
