Former Clemson right-handed pitcher Jay Dill was selected No. 530 overall by the A's in Monday's MLB draft (18th round).
Dill's last stop was at Troy, where he went 4-2 with six saves, a 3.67 ERA, 70 strikeouts, 29 walks and a .222 opponent batting average last season. He had a 5.63 ERA in 21 appearances the previous season there.
His final Clemson tally was 55.0 innings pitched over 39 appearances (four starts) and two seasons, he had a 3-3 record, one save and a 6.38 ERA while allowing 57 hits (.274 opponents’ batting average) and 29 walks with 59 strikeouts.
