I remember laughing at one of his dunks on a fast break where it looked like he jumped maybe 6-8" off the floor at loping speed. Still dunked, but it was possibly the blandest dunk I've ever seen.

If an opposing player broke away on a steal and Wideman was the only one to get to him, rest assured Tom was putting that mother ###### into the 10th row of Littlejohn.

Because no way he ever dunked on anyone.
I saw a few 5'11" point guards dunk on him, though.

would even bring the ball up the court, go behind the back, and make great crisp passes. It was a shame he was injured so much. Wasn't it Iturbe who tried to draw the charge on Jerry Stackhouse that prompted Dean Smith to yell at him, and caused Rick Barnes to go nuts?

Can't remember a time I ever enjoyed Clemson basketball more than that team. Boogie, Buckner, Big-O, Iturbe, et al. Student section was on fire during their time, too.

"Clemson’s top win during the regular season of 1996-97 was a victory over third ranked Kentucky in the season opener. Clemson’s top win this year was a win over third-ranked Duke at Littlejohn in February. In 1996-97 Clemson reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament behind Coach Rick Barnes"

I was at that game and Smith kept talking to Bill Harder every time Bill was close to the UNC bench.
Rick got super pissed. Some of it may have been over Iturbe too? Iturbe no doubt remains our finest Turkish player.
I honestly think if Smith had said much more or certainty touched Rick, that he would have punched Dean out.
Rick Barnes standing up to Dean Smith toe to toe was a moment to savor and put Smith on notice that Barnes was definitely not gonna put up with Smith’s BS. Smith loved playing mind games.
