the whole country knows we're better than they are.

I'm sure their boards are exploding with complaints about our ranking over theirs in the final polls.

We definitely got handed the best "rival" of any school in the country!

The rankings during the season continue to update weekly throughout the season based on how you’re performing, so the final rankings are based on how good you are at the very end of the year. Losing to Illinois didn’t help usc at all, and our performance against a much better team (TX) seems to have made voters think we’re better and that we only lost a very close game to them which was a 50:50 game that they made the final play on.
Personally, with all the opt-outs, etc. I get why people (usc in this case) get upset but the rankings should not take into consideration opt outs, etc because that is who you are at that point. Their end of the year team without their DE & RB was simply not as good as they were with them. And other teams have injuries that cost them during the season, so while I hear their complaints, as their infamos smart-a _ _ coach spurrier used to say, “it is what it is”.

I always say it takes everything under the sun to go their way just to squeak out a 1-3 pt win, but when it's the opposite, we win by 24+. That's the dif.....they always need all the crazy plays and calls to benefit them
