Even if Miami wins out, we can still do it

Make the playoff without playing in ACCCG if this happens:
1. Win out, have to do this
2. Just need teams ranked above us to lose and drop each week, just a few each week

Clemson will improve in CFB rankings and we just have to gain the number 12 spot…..

There is always a chance, until you are eliminated for real (like one more loss)…. So keep your heads up and go Tigers!!!!

I’ve got a bad feeling we are going to lose to the yard birds this year. They’re hungry and traditionally if they’re going to win a game against us it’s at Clemson

I think our ceiling is 13/14. Too many ESPN/CFP loving teams ahead of us, regardless of their results. I can see them picking several 3 loss teams before us because of their bias.

No chance if SMU and Miami win out.

There is just no path. Too many sec teams ahead of us. Even with 3 Ls they will stay ahead of us. At least 4 sec, 4 big 10, 1-2 big 12, ACC champ, the group of 5 team, and Notre Dame.

Unlikely

There’s a very real scenario where Texas, A&M, Tennesee, Georgia, Alabama and Ole Miss all finish 10-2. All would be ahead of us.

Even 9-3 might stay ahead of us because of the head to head.

The likelihood of everything we need to happen happening to get in as an at large is miniscule at best.

Our best and virtually only hope is riding on 2 games.

This week for us @ Pitt is obviously a must win bc if we lose that one it’s over for sure… however…

If we take of Pitt then our entire hope is basically resting on 1 game and that game will be Miami @ Syracuse.

Syracuse can definitely beat Miami especially getting them in the dome but it would still be an upset.

Obviously Miami still has WF but that’s at Miami and I highly doubt WF is going down there and beating them so it comes back to the game @ Syracuse.

I don't see a path

1) the loss to Louisville hurt the ranking real bad. I believe we're gonna have to win out & have to get into/win ACCCG (which still need alot of help for that), especially now that our loss to UGA looks worse now.

2) too many B10/SEC teams that will be propped up by year's end. Plus have Notre Dame, who despite a bad loss to NIU, is propped up by win @ Tx A&M + continuously leg-humping every ACC contest that doesn't involve playing Clemson.

3) our guys still have to win. While yesterday was step in right direction, still got to navigate road trip to Pitt & a game against SC that is looking tougher each passing week...& still alot of things this team has to clean up

TLDR version - gotta have too many things to break our way that I don't see happening.

You're overlooking the b12. If both Colorado and BYU win out, and both should, they'll play for the b12 championship. Should Colorado win the tournament, BYU would get in even with one loss. They hold the tie breaker with a W over smu. In that scenario, acc would only get one in. Seriously, tbh, the acc only deserves one team in no matter what scenario. The league is just that weak. We have the only chance to have a quasi quality win in the acc beating scar.

The playoff polls won’t ever allow us to be high enough for that to happen unless we back into the acc champ game … the AP has us at 17 but playoff poll had us at 23… a win at tech with not many ppl losing ahead us prob puts us at 20-21 at best… a win at Pitt depending on how we look likely won’t do much either and maybe move up a couple spots or stay around the same unless some teams lose ahead of us and there’s not much room for that…. Beating citadel does nothing and if scar is 8-3 and ranked in the top 20 that would def help but most likely won’t get back in the top 15 with the schedule so we would need to blow out Pitt and scar to make ppl notice and need a lot of help in front of us.
