I just love it when my wife say's something was 50% off then an additional 70% off. As if I'm fooled they are paying her 20%. But love is blind...
Regarding the stock market I don't jump around buying and selling stocks according to the latest price. I tried that before and didn't work. Maybe I don't know what I'm doing (likely) but the stock market is a long haul deal.

Trump is playing the long game and it will be more than "help". He's setting the country up for long term growth and prosperity.

Trump is playing the long game and it will be more than "help". He's setting the country up for long term growth and prosperity.
I'm curious - what exactly is the long game here? Like, is this a concept of a plan or actually something printed for the commoner to read by legit news sources?
Anytime I see something like this shared there isn't really an answer outside of "trust me, bro...it's just gonna work".
Like, I've seen one guy (I believe Peter Navarro) state something like: "YEAH, we're going to make $6 TRILLION DOLLARS off these tariffs over the next 10 years"...but provide no plans of how that is going to work exactly. And the only evident thing offhand is this will be US CITIZENS contributing toward that marker by paying more because businesses are going to factor that cost into prices.
You don't have to provide an entire thesis or anything but a source would be great for those of us just curious how this is going to work.

So you and I are going to pay more for pretty much everything, with tariffs being collected by the feds, which will create a revenue stream for the tax break for the wealthiest among us. At the same time, there will be cuts to social programs, like Medicaid (see the budget passed by the House today) and potentially to Medicare then Social Security (a Ponzi Scheme, according to Musk, that he would like to privatize). The last time the Republicans tried using tariffs, for a totally different reason, it worsened the depression, crashed the stock markets, and took the Republicans out of control for a very long period of time. Trump's goals, if they are to bring manufacturing back to the US, are not attainable in the time he has left in office. And in the meantime, if things continue to go as they are right now, we're going to see a lot of businesses close their doors during the upcoming recession. I know that's not what the MAGA crowd believes will happen, but most of us don't have a few billion dollars lying around to weather the storm that most economist see coming. Getting better trading relations, meaning free trade, with our trading partners is a noble and worthy goal that should be done, but there are better ways than what we are seeing now. Good luck. And if you care, I'm staying put and with my investments and hoping for the promised outcome. And if I don't live long enough to see it, then it won't matter to anyone except those whose inheritance was lost.

Don't worry, just let the President "Stay the Course"! For those of you who weren't Farmers, you lose money every spring when you plant the crops, you lose more money when you have the expense of cultivating, weeding, thinning if necessary, fertilize, etc. Now do you say, I give up, I'm losing money every day? Do you plow the crops under and take your losses? Heavens NO, you "Stay the Course", you be patient, you "wait", and then, THE CROP COMES IN! Then your recover your losses, and you sale and make a profit. Let the businessman do his thing, he would make a HEII of a Farmer......
It’s down 1500 points … and the tariffs were going to help ..well, I’m helpless ..

You don’t get farming at all, man. You plow em under and ask the government to subsidize it.

A man will pay the asking price, if it's something he really needs.
A woman will buy anything, if it's on "sale".

Exactly. If I need a new drill and it's on sale, I save money. If I don't need a new drill but I buy it because it's on sale, I've spent money I wouldn't have otherwise.
Sounds like we all have the same conversation. The sale is only a savings if you were going to buy it anyway.

If I am going to bet my money on businesses and corporations, it is going to be American ones ......best in the world ..... so I am not worried and will never panic and sell when the market has gone down.
