Or Repped in Practice. If that is the Case, then Wes and the other Defensive Coaches did not watch last week’s film of te Citadel vs Wofford. I watched that Game and The Citadel ran the same Offense against Wofford!

It is a fairly pathetic excuse. I guess all SC has to do is change their "looks" and then run wild.

In other words, they have been preparing for Scar and didn’t worry about changing their scheme for The Citadel just to have to change it this week. If that’s the case, I’m ok with that. Probably takes a lot of changes to play an option team they didn’t feel was necessary.

Exactly. And Lots of backups mixed in at all times. There is a big gap between Carter and Woodaz and the other backers including Sammy and that is the issue.

No, there isn't a big gap between Sammy and Barrett and Wade.

Sammy is big, strong and fast. It's not an issue. It is a strength. It matches up well with the strengths of the Gamecocks.

Sammy is all of those things but often out of position. That happens when you are young and such a supreme athlete that it hasn’t mattered up till now. He should be on the field and in a 3 backer set no question. He is getting lots of reps on purpose to help him grow.

I realize that UMASS is Not Good! However, UMASS is an FBS School that has 85 Scholarships. The Citadel is an FCS MILITARY SCHOOL with 63 Scholarships. Big Difference!

I think these games are one offs-not much to gain or discern.
I will say I don’t care if El Cid “showed us looks we haven’t seen before”. That should matter for 4-6 plays at most.

As clemsonguy02 suggested, we very well might have used the majority of last week’s practice to prepare for S.Carolina instead of Citadel.
As you pointed out, Citadel has only 63 scholarship players.
There was no way, regardless of preparation or lack thereof with regard to Citadel’s option offense, that we were going to lose to them.
I’m also glad that we held out our banged up players that might have otherwise been needed to save a game for us. (I get it that we wanted to give Mafah the chance to reach his goal of 1000 yards rushing; if not for that, I’d of wanted Mafah held out, too.)
Moving forward, we’d better be ready on defense to stop S.Carol8na. Big big problem for at last one of our assistant coaches if that doesn’t happen, especially so if Woodaz (as expected) is ready to play.
