Bill Belichick is not actually under contract at UNC?

Read somewhere that the actual contract has not been executed. A "terms sheet" has not not the actual agreement. Could make it interesting re the buyout if he bolts to one of the current NFL openings.

For a guy without a signed contract he surely is hiring alot of people. He just hired two more high power coordinators. Half his staff could be head coaches at alot of top 40 programs. It would certainly screw over his son if he does not stick with it (or he would have to make him DC wherever he went). Still the damage to Steve's career would be palpable. He most certainly would be sued by UNC for the massive damages it would do to their program.

He has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for a HC job in the NFL…

“ Belichick signed a term sheet proposal with UNC on Dec. 11. That laid out the basic and somewhat typical terms for a high-level college football coach. A gap of multiple months between the signing of a term sheet and a final contract being executed is common in the college ranks, industry sources said.”
