Ouch.

But I'm not sure anyone expects us to be Omaha bound every year. I think realistic goals are:

Make regional every year.
Win regional every other year
Win super regional every 3-4 years
Competitive in Omaha every 5 years

This would be a statistical average. Saying, we might make Omaha back to back, then maybe hit a lull where you miss it 5 years. So maybe we are saying the same thing.

Every team in the in every sport has a goal to go to the finals of their sport and it would be really stupid to not have Omaha on the yearly list of goals. The team doesn't need to change their expectations but fans do and learn to appreciate the effort like winning 45 games this year rather than criticizing coaches and players.

Well said. If Omaha was a goal then they shouldn’t suit up.
Fans need to temper their criticism of players. Saturday was not great, matter of fact the past few weeks weren’t but 45 w’s is nothing to wine about and with a few breaks here and there who knows. Regroup, get ready for next year.

The last 50 years, Clemson has been to Omaha 10 times. Seeing that we haven’t been in the last 15 years, I think going to Omaha once every three to five years is a very realistic expectation for this program . I’m not sure what the problem now is. Since the 2010 appearance, the baseball team’s postseason Mojo seems to be gone, and no matter what, can’t get it back. We went out and got the hottest coach in the nation, and his third year he can’t get out of regional. Seems odd.

Yeah we need to start worrying about winning regionals. Omaha is a pipe dream at this point….. to not be making supers though warrants a coaching change after 2026
