Division I (D1) institutions can opt into revenue sharing: Any NCAA school at any level that opted into the House settlement is allowed to participate in revenue sharing.

Power 4 conferences in D1 are essentially mandated to participate: Power 5 conferences (Big Ten, SEC, Big 12, ACC - with the Pac-12 in transition) and Notre Dame are effectively required to follow the new rules.

Other D1 schools can choose to opt in: These schools can also choose to share revenue, although some may opt not to due to the expense.

Division II (D2) and Division III (D3) are not currently required to participate: Future changes might extend to these divisions.

Schools like Furman, Coastal, Wofford and the other smaller mid majors can certainly share revenue if they have it. The sad thing is many smaller schools are looking for ways to cut expenses and in some cases, sports will have to be cut if athletes are to receive any money.
