Any updates on recruiting?

We were up to #2 on 247 but now we are back down to #5. Seems that we haven't had much or any action in a while. Just wondering. GO TIGERS

247 always ranks our recruits lower than any service. That's because there's zero subscribers to the Clemson 247 site. Now that ON3 is buying out Rivals they know they will never have subscribers to the Clemson 247 site. Subscriptions do have an effect on player rankings.

I keep up with the team rankings daily , and it's in line with the added commitments from the last few days, ND pickup 3 new commitments, Ohio St also picked up a couple , with LSU and Penn St. all picking up a couple this weekend, so they all passed us in overallteam rankings... our last commitment was DL Cody , so until we grab a few we will continue to drop. But looking at what the other poster said , it does have some merit, where Rivals does have our players ranked higher then say 247 has them ranked lower. Now if it's based off of paid subscriptions , I don't know anything about that, but I wouldn't doubt it either! Go Tigers!!

It's not totally based of paid subscriptions but you can tell they fudge their player rankings towards subscribers. Rivals came out with an updated top 250 yesterday and in light of the takeover almost every player on our commit list dropped.

This is why I think the recruting services miss out on Clemson's ability to rate and recruit long term starters.

Clemson ranks highly for the number of freshman who see playing time and have successful seasons in college football. ESPN's rankings of the top 60 true freshman seasons of all time include several Clemson players.

This is true year after year, and Clemson loses less than most in the portal. We just do a better job of evaluation than most others IMO.

The staff is currently in the evaluation period as of right now, but there should be plenty to monitor this month, but I'd give that a few weeks as we get closer to official visits.
