Alcohol sales aren't going to ruin DKS or Death Valley

Check out this study done by the University of Iowa Department of Emergency Medicine:
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10047730/
TLDR, there was no statistically significant difference in alcohol-related EMS calls at a 65K capacity Midwestern college football stadium in 2019 with no alcohol sales and 2021 when there were. They actually went DOWN in 2021, but the study concluded it wasn't in a statistically significant way.
The point? Drunks are gonna drink whether they can buy it in the stadium or not. They always have, they always will, and that includes at Clemson. If you don't see them on gamedays you must have on horse blinders. Most of those people would never pay $10 for a beer anyways. The people that would in large part are perfectly normal, non-problematic folks that will responsibly enhance their experience in a way that earns Clemson a good bit of money. If you see a drunk person buying a beer in the stadium, they were already drunk before they came in.
Kids have a blast at MLB games getting foul balls, cheered on by dads who are often holding expensive beers. Clemson will be no different; the family atmosphere won't be affected.

Good grief bottom Line Clemson has to get with the times. Even Wake Forest with its Baptist heritage sells beer and was the first Div 1 school in NC to do so.

I don’t always agree with the idea of doing it because someone else does it. Spent a lot of time teaching my kids this lesson.
Won’t be an EMS deal but there will be more fighting and things possibly said out of the way to women and kids. I sat next to the students at Wake and it was horrible to say the least. Some of those drunks were saying things to older ladies (Clemson fans) that was shameful. Just what alcohol does to folks that cannot handle it.

Just another thoughtless assertion that adding alcohol will be either neutral or a net positive. A reliance on EMS calls hardly equates to "nothing to see here." Eons of human history provide ample evidence that the more available an intoxicant is the more problems are realized. Besides, if I understand things, there are no restrictions on drinking in the parking lot. If a drunk is going to drink, let them do so there.

I just hope no one dies or gets injured by a drunk driver leaving one of baseball games. Bad idea.

minor league baseball games. When I go to a Riverdogs game I usually have a beer or two while I'm watching the game. I think the vast majority of people that drink beer at baseball games are similar. There aren't many people going to baseball games to get drunk.
And if you're worried about drunk drivers leaving the game - how is that fundamentally different than bars or any other establishments that serve alcohol? Responsible people are going either not drink enough to get drunk, have a DD, or take an Uber.

We have no business encouraging drinking. If you can’t hold off alcohol consumption for just a few hours, you have a real problem and could endanger people on the roads and highways.

People drink at tailgates all morning and afternoon prior to going into the game. People leave the stadium at halftime to head back to their tailgate to have a few drinks. People get back to their tailgate and have a few more drinks. Having beer available in the stadium will probably cut down on the drinking at the tailgate and halftime. I always love how the religious try and press their values on everyone else.

I assume that Clemson will have insurance similar to bars and other establishments that provide liquor/beer.

Does not matter one way or the other. But I have never seen anyone get into a fight because they had too much sweet tea. Still I do not care if they do or if they don't. Although, is it just me or has anyone noticed the inability of many/most adults to be able to enjoy themselves if alcohol is not severed at an event? Prior to perhaps the 90's it was never this way. Shoot, we have trouble getting people to come to church events now because they know they can't get drunk.

It's not exactly the beer itself, but it doesn't help to have it readily available when there are so many douche-bag half grown man-babies walking around Clemson these days.

Drunks are still gonna show up drunk.

All that's different is they'll switch to beer if when their little hidden flasks/bladders run dry. Or leave and refresh at their tailgates at halftime.
Hopefully they'll find a way to squeeze another 1,000 urinals into the heads.
But overall I'm less worried about them selling beer than I am them selling hot dogs from the 70s and pretzels from the Bowden era. Those two things, alone, have done more to destroy lives and digestive systems than a river of cheap beer ever could.

Don’t care one way or another about DV serving beer, although it doesn’t feel like something everyone is asking for since we have pass-outs. DKS having beer is a must, though. There is something very un-American about watching baseball without access to cold beer.
