Howdy Tigers!
Obviously this is somewhat self-serving, but I' genuinely wishing Clemson the best today against who we affectionately refer to as the "teasips." (Okay, so maybe "affectionately" is a matter of perspective.)
I say "genuinely" since we discovered in our most recent meetings that our fanbases have somewhat of an affinity in the way college football weekends should be. We will never forget 90cualum's heartfelt post about his journey to Aggieland in 2018. That seemed to simply expose an undercurrent of culture between our two institutions, possibly the shared military traditions.
From my vantage, I was impressed with Clemson Tigers that came to College Station in 2018. They seemed to be an optimistic bunch and gracious guests. They were people who were genuinely interested in experiencing the atmosphere and lined the streets outside Kyle Field respectfully watching the Cadets march in before the game. When I arrived at my seats, squarely deep within a sea of maroon in the Aggie Alumni section, I was surprised to see a Lady Clemson Tiger and her kids sitting to my left. Apparently an Aggie relative or friend gave her the tickets. It turned out to be an amazing experience as she cheered and encouraged her kids to cheer when something good happened for Clemson, but then shared with me how amazed she was at the atmosphere inside the stadium, the sounds, the Aggie Band, and asked "Is it always like this!?" At the end of the close game, no doubt moved by the experience, she turned to me, held up a two-dollar bill with a Tiger paw stamped on it, and said "I feel like I need to give this to you." I still have it on my mantle today next to the TV I tend to watch college games on. I also recall a Clemson Tiger I never met, but somehow we swapped mobile phones from the fan forums knowing he may need tips while he was in Aggieland. Since texting him with parking directions on game day, I've since lost his number, but the feelings that we were of one fan base that simply wore different colors rang true.
Because of the 2018 game in College Station, I couldn't miss the trip to Clemson in 2019. I can honestly say Clemson Tigers reciprocated very well. Every Aggie I have swapped trip stories with came away with positive vibes over their experiences and how they were treated by Clemson fans. Personally, I remember how beautiful the campus was, set in rolling hills, and the trees, and a small building on campus set in an open area that looked like a chapel. And in that area, I distinctly recall a Clemson Tiger making a beeline directly to me from their tailgate, unprovoked. As the norm at other schools and match-ups usually should, sadly, give you alarm at such sudden movement, the episode sticks out in my memory five years later since I was simply greeted with a firm handshake, "Welcome to Clemson, and thank you for last year in College Station."
I bid you every compound, complex, ever-lovin' beat the #### outta Texas today, Tigers!
Gig 'em

Happy holiday greetings from a Tiger that’s been in Texas for 27 years. In 27 years I’ve had exactly zero negative interactions with Aggies. I can’t say the same for those tea sipping pukes, not even close.
Here’s to hoping we can put a smile on an Aggie’s face and end the tea sippers season.

…who was ragging really nasty on the Aggies. It got so nasty against the Aggies, that I felt compelled to defend Texas A&M.
I said, “hey, look, I really believe that if I had grown up in Texas, I would have most likely went to A&M.”
In true nasty fashion, the Texas alum looked at me and said, “yeah, we kind of figured that!”, and mic dropped from there.
That was the end of my arguments over Texas and the Aggies.

Wow! I have been on this forum since its inception, but don't post all that often. I was shocked to be lurking today and see my handle mentioned and you remembered my writeup of our trip. Thanks for the shout-out friend. We really did have a remarkable trip to Aggieland in 2018. I still recount that story often about how wonderful the experience was and how gracious the people we met that day were to us visitors. Merry Christmas to you and your family! Chip

We lived in Texas for 20 years and attended many games in Aggieland and totally understand what an Aggie is and what a Teasip is.......and they are totally dissimilar in nature. You are correct about the similarities between Clemson and TAMU. Great fans with great traditions. I am sure all you Aggies would like nothing better than to see the Austin imposters dehorned today and we will do our best to oblige.
