that I will never collect. While at Walter Reed in 1970, I bet a guy that Hank Aaron would break Ruth’s record. It took 4 years for it to happen but I don’t even remember the guy’s name or where he was from. I guess we should have shared that information.

Well, you have to consider that Hank was in the last third of his career and had to average 40 or so a year - he claimed that there was no way he could do it.

He wasn’t in for war wounds- he had a large tumor in his upper chest/neck area. I remember him saying that he woke up in the middle of the surgery and tried to sit up. Scared the surgeon to death!

Clover it’s crazy the life you lived. If you tried to sell this to Hollywood, they’d tell you it could never happen. Stories of bravery and history that we must pass to future generations. Bravo-Zulu, Clover65!
