Zerrick Cooper

Nov 14, 2015, 11:37 PM

How good is this kid? Compared to DW and Kelly Bryant? Can he really start for us and be really good in your opinion?

Dude. Is. Clutch!!!

Use Friday's first round playoff game as an example:

Zerrick Cooper knotted the game up with 2:28 remaining in regulation when he found Jordan Griffin for a 10-yard touchdown. Asael Castaneda capped the Jonesboro comeback by nailing a 35-yard field goal with 32 seconds remaining to complete the Cardinals’ comeback after trailing 14-0 at the half.
Jonesboro 17, Thomas County Central 14

Yep, he's clutch folks. He is very talented and very polished at this point in time. Cooper proved all the naysayers wrong who had concerns about his rebuilt knee. He nailed on at summer camps this past summer and there appears no reason why he shouldn't continue to progress. What to expect? Well, its really difficult to speculate but I'll just throw this out there for ya; How did his team win their first conference title in years?....

Jonesboro (QB commit Zerrick Cooper) 19
Locust Grove 12
Cooper finished with three touchdown passes in the game. Zerrick Cooper’s 11-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Marria with :20 seconds remaining in the game gave Jonesboro a comeback victory and the region title over Locust Grove. Jonesboro battled back from a 14-0 fourth quarter deficit.

His week 5 highlights: Jonesboro (Zerrick Cooper) 43
Eastside 14
Thursday night was the first game Cooper played without a brace on his surgically repaired knee since suffering a torn ACL last year. Cooper showed no ill effects, and made several plays with his legs to extend plays or avoid defenders in the backfield. Cooper wasn't asked to do too much in the offense in terms of throwing the ball down the field, but he looked in control while serving as his team's signal-caller. Reports state that he was 13 of 23 passing for 110 yards and a TD pass. - See more at: https://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1804334#sthash.5exuarGR.dpuf
