He must still be planning on coaching after Beamer to give his retirement a boost!

recruiting base in FSU is more of that shingle school variety than Clemson

I think with Clemson you have to have a dynamic recruiter b/c its not in a big city or in a fertile recruiting area. Which is another reason why if Dabo ever leaves we are going to probably go through a pretty stiff void in getting top tier talent here until the following crew gets their footing. At FSU you just need competent coaching and you can recruit well b/c florida, georgia, and that whole area down there there is easy to get kids to go there. And they usually have no issues with stretching the rules as far as they'll go (NIL, lax academics, etc.)

I think Spurrier would also say SCAR is not really bred for the SEC either but they're in already so they don't have anything to worry about. But we are not at the program level in terms of (money, donors, boosters, reach) of a Texas or an Oklahoma like the last time they expanded. We're close but those two were no brainers b/c of the money and eyeballs they bring in. I think we're more in that Oregon Miami, or Penn State realm where yes we'd compete well but they probably won't be going out of their way to add us.. mainly b/c they already have a team from our small state and our alumni base isn't gargantuan.

Trying to look at this thing from a non-bias perspective.

I don't think there would be that big of a lull that some think that Clemson would go through especially if the administration would allow Dabo to have a lot of input on the next HC for the Clemson FB program.

I say that bc I truly believe that Dabo has a love for Clemson that he hasn't had for another university probably since his love for Bama, and I think in a private conversation with one of his close friends he would admit that his love for Clemson is now more than any other university. With that said,

I truly don't believe that he would want to leave the Clemson FB with a coach that he didn't believe would do for the program the same as he would do!!! I also believe that our next HC would be someone who has worked for Dabo and believes in the way that Dabo does things bc that way has been very successful for Dabo, and it could be for somebody who has worked under Dabo.

Are we not similar to Auburn? Auburn does pretty well in recruiting and the SEC….

So I guess, Kentucky, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, and USuC are better fits than Clemson?
